My name is Eva Levinson & I live in Crystal Palace with my husband, my two children, two cats and a dog. After a long-standing, career in the NHS and Private Healthcare as Head of Learning and Development. I decided to start my own training enterprise in Paediatric Massage, Baby Massage, Paediatric First Aid and Adult First Aid courses. As a fully qualified Trainer and Assessor, as well as my specialist subjects, I have an MA in Learning and Development and also a teaching qualification. Which is a Health and Safety Executive prerequisite to teach First Aid subjects. I also deliver Ofsted approved Paediatric First Aid courses to Schools, Early Years, Childminders and Nannies and anyone else requiring certification in First Aid for professional use. Having been a teacher for such a long time in health-related subjects, I understand how people learn and ensure my courses are designed to suit all learning preferences and meet any special educational needs or for those requiring additional support. Research into how we learn, suggests that brains in a state of relaxation, are better able to remember new information. This is why my whole ethos with And Chillax is that learning should be relaxed, […]

A doula supports women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood. It is becoming increasingly common for women to use a doula in addition to receiving pregnancy care from a midwife. Birth doulas provide flexible and continuous support before, during and often after the child is born. They may help with other children, encourage a partner with support while the child is being born, nurture and support the mother, and give support to help establish breastfeeding. Doulas also offer individualised support for mum to be as well as their partner preparing for birth drawing birth proposals, talking in depth about options and choices during pregnancy, labour and post birth as well as pain relief, breathing techniques and often a more natural and positive approach to pregnancy and labour making you feel always in control and giving you all the information you need to make informed decisions. Doulas often provide also a space to debrief from previous births especially if they were difficult or traumatic. Having a doula present can: shorten first-time labour by an average of two hours, decrease the chance of caesarean section by 50% and decrease the need for pain medication. In addition, having a doula […]

I live in Purley with my husband, our daughter born in 2013 and our son born in 2016. During my first pregnancy, my husband and I were living in Oman, where pregnancy and birth are obstetrician-led and tend to be treated as high risk medical affairs. I began to do a lot of research into the birth I wanted, hired a birth doula (which I had never heard of previously!) and went on to have what was only the country’s fourth water birth. After having a positive and empowering birth experience, which left me feeling upbeat and confident during the postnatal period, I continued to read and further my knowledge about all birth and breastfeeding related topics. My desire soon turned to helping support other women achieve their own positive birth experiences and meet their own breastfeeding goals. When we returned to the UK at the end of 2013, I soon realised I wanted to become a doula and completed Kicki Hansard’s BirthBliss Doula Course. By the time I was pregnant with my son, I had already supported many women through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, and I had an even clearer idea of how I wanted my own […]

A little bit about me: I live in Claygate KT10 and have two wonderful daughters who are now young adults making their own way in the world. Being part of their journey into strong independent women has been a huge journey and such a privilege. Now that they need me in a different way I love being able to use the skills I’ve developed – as their supporter, advocate, encourager, nurturer, defender, guardian, pamperer and sometimes just being there with a listening ear or a hand to hold – by being a doula for parents to be and new families. What I offer: Antenatal education – There are no set formats or set start dates so these can be flexible depending on what you want to get from them. They could be one-to-one, with your partner or with a small number of other expectant parents. It could be that you want a single information session on a subject relevant to you or a series of more general sessions looking at the processes of labour, birth and fourth trimester and the various options available to you. These can be booked separately or combined with labour and birth attendance. I also offer […]

I was first introduced to doulas during the pregnancy of my first son and was immediately taken by what a wonderful concept; women helping women at one of the most profound and life changing times of their lives. The more I learnt about doulas, the more I felt excited about becoming one. Having had the ‘right, what do we do now’ feeling returning from hospital with Max and then the different challenges the early stages bring, I am focusing my support on the post natal period. I feel every mum should have access to help and support whether it’s their first child or third – we all need help for different reasons – feeling exhausted, help with feeding or taking the pressure off with siblings. The weeks after birth can often be complex and having another woman there for support is really beneficial. So what can I offer? I will find out the background and where you would like help and then tailor that support to meet expectations. You can expect emotional help; such as debriefing a birth experience or working through a concern you may have. I’ll offer practical help with baby, making sure you are cared for and […]

Pregnancy, birth and postnatal support for the whole family. I am a married mum of three beautiful daughters, Esmé, Maggie and Evie. I live in Bromley, Kent. As well as being a birth and postnatal Doula I also teach Hypnobirthing, as I believe that being relaxed and confident in pregnancy and during labour can help you as a mother have a more gentle experience, wherever and however you choose to birth. As my husband was away for most of my pregnancies my best friend took on the role of Doula for my first birth; although she had no prior experience I felt safe and calm in her presence during the antenatal preparation and at the birth, she was also a huge support to my husband during the birth so that I didn’t have to worry about him worrying about me! The pregnancy and the birth of my twins was totally different, they were diagnosed early on with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, I was scanned and monitored throughout the pregnancy, my daughters were born by emergency Caesarean at 36 weeks. Having had these two births, both very different I have seen two very different sides to how birth can be; […]
