I am a birth and postnatal Doula based in Vale of Glamorgan. My services include: Antenatal preperation along with birth and postnatal support (see website for full details). I am fully certified through Nurturing Birth and am also a Doula UK member. You can book me simply to understand more about the labour/birth process, or to actually attend your birth to assist and support you and your birth partner. I can also visit you at home if you are a new mum who would like support with breast or bottle feeding or just need a little company/ confidence boost when your partner returns to work. I do not give out my personal views or advice but can give you information so you can make informed decisions that seem right for you and your baby! I am also an Antenatal teacher and run pregnancy meet up groups in the Vale of Glamorgan. Acidity and Pregnancy

Acidity is caused due to changing hormones during pregnancy. In the later months, it is more due to the increasing size of baby in your womb which is pressing your stomach and causing acidity. It is the most common problem which many women face during their pregnancy. Here are a few useful tips which can help you get the relief you need: Eat small meals rather than three big meals: Eat frequent smaller meals rather than eating three big meals. Avoid over-eating and eat slowly rather than eating faster. Eat healthy: Pregnancy is a time when our taste buds need different types of food. Try to keep your taste buds satisfied by eating healthy food. Junk can only worsen the acidity. Avoid Smoking / Alcohol: Smoking and alcohol can lead to bad effects on your health and worsen your acidity. Avoid them as much as possible. Increase your fluid intake: Try drinking lot of fluids specially water. Fluids will subside the acidity from your body and reduce indigestion. Complications During Pregnancy

The complications during pregnancy differ in each pregnant woman. It can be mild or severe. Some women may experience complication during pregnancy. Complications are the health problems of the mom or the baby that occur during pregnancy. Some common complications that mom and fetus may experience during pregnancy are: High Blood Pressure: High blood pressure or hypertension is a complication of the pregnant woman that affects the baby. High blood pressure can cause other complications like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes which affects both mom and the child. Before delivery, tell your doctor clearly about your medical history and if you had high blood pressure earlier. High blood pressure is a serious complication that should be treated. Anemia: Anemia is a condition that occurs if the normal number of healthy red blood cells is lower. Women with anemia can feel more tiredness or will be more weak. Iron and folic acid supplements are given to women with anemia. You need to include diet which is high in iron.
